Investigate the physiological properties of skeletal muscle from the isolated amphibian gastrocnemius.
The aim of this experiment is to investigate the physiological properties of skeletal muscle from the isolated amphibian gastrocnemius. In this experiment, students will explore the single twitch, twitch recruitment, the relationship between muscle length and tension generated, tetanus, and muscle fatigue. This experiment is the same as "Frog Sciatic Nerve & Skeletal Muscle" minus the sciatic nerve preparation. This experiment is suitable for students with basic knowledge of the PowerLab Data Acquisition System.
