The Department of Biology at Lafayette College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level beginning August 2012. We seek a broadly trained physiologist committed to combining teaching and research at a small liberal arts college. Teaching responsibilities include participation in the lecture portion of General Biology, a one-semester course in physiology with lab, an advanced course in the applicant’s area of interest, and contribution to the Common Course of Study. Applicants should have a Ph.D., teaching experience, a strong commitment to undergraduate education and a willingness to contribute to an integrative Biology curriculum. Post-doctoral experience is desirable. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an independent, active research program that will provide opportunities for undergraduate participation. The department is especially interested in applicants with broad and diverse experiences, training, and scholarly interests who can contribute to enriching diversity in the curriculum and enhance the vibrant learning community at Lafayette College.
