Post-Doctoral Fellow in Ion Channel Cellular and Molecular Physiology. An =
opportunity for a highly motivated, hands-on, and multi-talented researcher=
to study the modulation of potassium channels by membrane-derived lipid si=
gnaling molecules. Position is funded by an NIH grant. Opportunities to pr=
oduce, present, develop, and mentor student research are present within an =
undergraduate setting in the Biology Department at the University of Richmo=

low will complete some of the planned research and will also have opportuni=
ties to initiate new research aligned with the research program=92s focus o=
n lipid modulation of ion channels. The primary teaching responsibility is=
the mentorship of two or more undergraduate research students in the lab i=
ncluding technical training, assistance with experimental design, guidance =
and side-by-side help with collection and analysis of data, and preparation=
for presentation of the work by undergraduates. A doctoral degree in a re=
levant discipline and cellular electrophysiology experience are required; s=
ome molecular biology experience is preferred. A commitment to doing resea=
rch with undergraduates is needed. Start date is between January 1, 2012 a=
