This year I am teaching the course without a lab for reasons that have little to do with pedagogy. Largely because of the absence of lab I have a fairly extensive paper reading exercise as part of the course. This excerise is based on the CREATE approach developed by Sally Hoskins at CUNY and others. This course is pitched at undergraduates at the junior level and typically has 10-15 students.
