Animal Physiology
A Tenure-track opening for an Animal Physiologist is available in the
Department of Biological Sciences at DePaul University starting
September 2010 (pending approval of funding). The successful candidate
will be broadly trained in Animal Physiology with a strong commitment to
undergraduate education. We welcome endocrinologists, neurobiologists,
and organismal-based physiologists, but all sub-disciplines and animal
model systems will be considered. Ph.D. required; post-doctoral and
previous teaching experience preferred. Teaching responsibilities to
include some combination of: introductory biology for non-majors;
co-teaching one quarter of introductory biology for majors; vertebrate
physiology; and graduate/advanced undergraduate courses in the
candidate's area of expertise. The Department is housed in a spacious
and well-equipped teaching, research and support complex that includes a
2,000 sq. ft. staffed animal care facility and a newly opened gold-LEED
certified wing used by biology, chemistry and environmental science.
Start-up funds are provided. Review of applications will begin December
