POSITION SUMMARY: The Neuroscience Laboratory Coordinator is expected to provide technical support for laboratories associated with the Neuroscience curriculum.  The Neuroscience Laboratory Coordinator responsibilities include coordinating the care and maintenance of laboratory animals year-round, preparing solutions and media, ordering supplies for laboratories, maintaining equipment, disposing properly of biohazardous and chemical waste, and working to maintain a safe laboratory environment.  This position is responsible for hiring, processing personnel paperwork for, and directly supervising one or more student employees in the Neuroscience Department, and will help train a postbaccalaureate student to help support Molecular Biology teaching labs.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Biology or a related field is required.  Master’s degree in these fields is preferred.
Experience: Extensive laboratory experience in Neuroscience or Biology at the college level is required.  Experience with electrophysiology is preferred.

REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, except during the designated summer period when work hours end at 4:30 p.m. Overtime, holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or Department. Travel may be required.
