Nominations now being accepted for FUN Executive Committee positions

Interested in serving on the FUN executive committee?  Or do you know someone who would be a great addition to the leadership of FUN?

Nominations are now being accepted for the positions of President-Elect and Councillor.  Position descriptions are below.  Please send names of those you wish to nominate to President-Elect Elaine Reynolds ([email protected]). Those nominated will be contacted to provide a photo and description of their interest in the position for inclusion on the ballot.  Elections will take place in late September, so watch for the announcement to vote too!


Councilor position:

The position is a two year commitment.  Councilors are asked to be on one committee which usually involves participating in the review of one of several FUN sponsored awards.  Councilors also attend the yearly FUN executive committee meeting that takes place during the SfN annual meeting.



The PRESIDENT-ELECT is the first position of a three-year sequence (followed by the position of President and Past-president) is tasked with organizing the FUN travel awards including making the announcement of the program, collecting the submissions, coordinating reviewers and making notification of outcomes.  The president-elect also works with the President to coordinate the election of new officers. The PRESIDENT keeps the FUN website updated with current travel award winners and other developments, coordinates the Brain Awareness Week travel award with SfN, plans the FUN executive committee and business meetings that take place during the SfN meeting, fund-raises for the travel awards and in general, advocates for FUN.  The PAST-PRESIDENT coordinates the German travel award, plans the FUN social and poster session at SfN and coordinates awarding of the FUN awards (Educator of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Career Achievement, Service Award, and Mentor Awards
