The Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences in the Sanford School of Medicine, the University of South Dakota, is seeking a Research Associate I. In this position, the entry level research associate will provide technical support to research projects in Dr. Lisa McFadden's laboratory. The responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: small animal surgery and caretaking, western blotting, autoradiography, chromatography and general laboratory maintenance including managing inventory, ordering and record keeping. Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's in biological-related sciences. Candidates with a PhD will not be considered for this position. Prior experience with animal research is preferred but not required. The candidate will need to have a good work ethic, willingness to learn, solid communication skills, attention to details, and possess the ability to function as part of a team. Additionally, this position may require working up to two weekends a month. A criminal background check, DEA assessment and drug screening is required. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience. This is a grant funded position. Continuation within the position is contingent on performance and funding availability.
