The Department of Psychology at Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Neuroscience, focusing on cognitive and/or behavioral neuroscience, to begin in August 2018. A Ph.D. or ABD is required. Teaching experience, postdoctoral experience, and/or experience with curriculum development are preferred.  A successful candidate would be able to teach Research Methods, Sensation & Perception, Cognitive Neuroscience, Introduction to Neuroscience, and additional courses in their area of expertise. The successful candidate will be expected to involve undergraduates in his/her scholarship activities.

Consisting of over 220 majors and seven full time faculty, the Department of Psychology offers programs in Psychological Science, Premedical Psychology, and Neuroscience.  The Neuroscience program is an interdisciplinary program, housed in the Department of Psychology. This newly developed program draws most heavily on the offerings of its home department and includes additional courses in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science. The program's interdisciplinary curriculum provides students with content knowledge across the field. Graduates of the program are qualified to work as scientists, to pursue further graduate training in neuroscience or other scientific fields, or to enter training programs for health professionals.
