The Neuroscience Department at Western New England University is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing August 2019; January 2019 starting time might be a possibility. The area of specialization within Neuroscience is open, but preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching experience in neurodevelopment. Primary teaching responsibilities will be within the Neuroscience program, covering a broad spectrum of core and elective courses centered on the needs of the department and the expertise of the candidate. In addition, successful candidates will have an active research program and display a strong commitment to involving undergraduate neuroscience students in their research. While primarily a teaching institution seeking candidates with a strong commitment to teaching, scholarly activity is required for tenure consideration. The deadline for application is November 1, 2018. In addition to submitting a cover letter, a current CV, a teaching statement, and a research statement, candidates must have three reference letters of recommendation sent. Official transcripts of all course-work in higher education are required. (Unofficial transcripts are acceptable during the initial application.) Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. program before the starting date. Previous teaching experience, as well as postdoctoral research experience are a plus. The candidate must be willing and able to teach courses that include Introduction to Behavioral Neuroscience, Neurodevelopment, and Research Methods in Neuroscience.
