The Saint Mary’s College Department of Psychological Sciences invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Cognitive Neuropsychology to begin August 2019. This visiting appointment is currently set for two years, although this position has a strong possibility of becoming tenure-track.
The Cognitive Neuropsychology candidate will teach some combination of Cognitive Psychology or Cognitive Neuropsychology, Neuropsychology, Introduction to Psychology, and courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The individual in this position will teach three courses per semester based on the needs of the department and the teaching interests of the successful candidate. The ability of this candidate to contribute to one of our growing interdisciplinary programs (Neuroscience, Environmental Studies, Gender & Women’s Studies, Gerontology, Communicative Sciences, Justice Studies) is a plus. Qualified candidates whose teaching and research interests involve related, but not identical, areas such as those described above, or a combination of those described above, are also encouraged to apply.
This position requires a Ph.D. either in Psychology or a related field. Candidates who are A.B.D. will be considered. The successful candidate will contribute to the mission of the college which promotes a life of intellectual vigor, aesthetic appreciation, religious sensibility, and social responsibility. The Department of Psychological Sciences particularly emphasizes excellence in writing and research, and strong candidates will have an interest in inclusive pedagogy.
