The Emory University Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology (NBB) Program seeks a creative and engaging faculty member who will contribute effectively to undergraduate teaching and mentoring and who will provide leadership and service to the NBB program and Emory College. The appointment is for a regular faculty member on the Lecture Track, whose primary responsibilities are in teaching, program administration and service. The Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology Program is an interdepartmental undergraduate program representing a unique interdisciplinary synthesis of the fields of neuroscience and behavior. The program’s success comes from the expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment of 8 core faculty, six of them lecture-track, and supported by a larger community of 54 faculty in associated departments and programs across the University. The NBB program faculty are committed to creating a respectful community of educators and scholars and seek colleagues who are willing to nurture and support growth of students of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and those who identify as LGBTQ+.  This search is part of a multi-year Emory initiative to foster equity and to promote the success of our diverse student population. A successful candidate will have a PhD in a field that will contribute meaningfully to the NBB Program’s curricular goals and an outstanding record of teaching, curricular development and student academic advising. A new faculty member will teach 1-2 required NBB courses and 2-3 other courses that positively contribute to the NBB curriculum. Applicants with demonstrated effectiveness in teaching diverse students, engaging their critical thinking, and in applying innovative instructional techniques are of particular interest.
