Visiting Assistant Professor for Neuroscience

Trinity University Department of Biology invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor to begin in August 2023. Candidates with a Ph.D. will receive preference. Responsibilities relate to teaching one to three of four total sections of the laboratory component of the Neurobiology course. The students in lab are senior Neuroscience majors. As the lab uses extracellular and sharp electrode intracellular electrophysiology, an understanding of and experience using electrophysiology is required. Applicants with laboratory teaching experience in Neurobiology, Physiology, Developmental, Cellular Biology or related courses are preferred.

Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Visiting Assistant Professor will teach three lab sections of Neurobiology (BIOL 3457).

 

EDUCATION

Required: 

An earned master’s degree or a Ph.D. candidate after successfully passing all qualifying exams without condition with a concentration in some aspect of Neuroscience, physiology, developmental or cellular biology by August 11, 2023.

 

Preferred:

In addition to general academic competence required for the assigned course, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level
  • Demonstrated commitment to Trinity University’s liberal arts mission
  • ?Relevant graduate coursework or publications aligned with the identified teaching areas
  • A demonstrated commitment to Trinity’s value of intentional inclusion
  • A willingness to support the goals of the Pathways general education curriculum
