Established in 1969, Ramapo College offers bachelor’s degrees in the arts, business, humanities, social sciences and the sciences, as well as in professional studies, which include business, elementary education, nursing and social work. The College also offers articulated programs, including dental, optometry, chiropractic and health professions, as well as visual arts therapy and law, with colleges and institutions in New Jersey and New York.
Undergraduate students may choose to concentrate their studies in one of five schools with more than 550 course offerings and more than 38 academic programs. Ramapo College of New Jersey invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Neuroscience. Any area of neuroscience will be considered, however those candidates with expertise in 1) Cognitive Neuroscience (e.g. Learning and Memory and Attentional Processing), 2) Affective Neuroscience or 3) Computational Neuroscience are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or psychology or a related field. The appointment will begin September 1, 2024.
· The position requires excellence in teaching and advising, professional and scholarly achievements, and a commitment to service to the institution and community.
· The successful candidate will be expected to teach (6) courses per academic year across the Neuroscience and Psychology curriculum with an interest in teaching Introduction to Neuroscience, Research Methods, Statistics, Cognitive Neuroscience, Behavioral Neuroscience, Neuropsychopharmacology, Neuroscience Capstone and courses in the applicant’s area of expertise.
