Professor of Practice in Neuroscience
The
Tulane University Neuroscience Program seeks to fill
TWO Professor of Practice (PoP) positions to begin July 1, 2025. Both PoP positions are
full-time academic year (nine-month) teaching positions (3,3 load) with renewable 3-year (and later 5-year) appointments. One PoP position will be in Behavioral/Cognitive Neuroscience, and the other will be in Cellular/Molecular Neuroscience. The responsibilities of these positions will include teaching undergraduate and graduate-level lecture and laboratory courses, advising neuroscience majors, and providing service to the program and institution. Applicants should be able to teach lecture and laboratory courses in fundamental neuroscience (Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive, and/or Cellular/Molecular Neuroscience) and their areas of specialty. Two courses taught by the Cognitive/Behavioral Neuroscience PoP will be cross-listed with Psychology, reflecting the close connections of the Neuroscience Program within the Tulane Brain Institute, which fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across the University.
The Tulane Neuroscience Program, one of the oldest in the country, is part of the Tulane Brain Institute (
http://brain.tulane.edu). You will join a program with a long, successful history of undergraduate, master's, and graduate education and many resources for excellent teaching. Tulane University is a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU).
