Position Information

• Develop and maintain a productive program of research in physiological/biological psychology or behavioral/cognitive neuroscience.
• Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals and disseminate research findings through professional presentations and other scholarly outlets.
• Seek external funding to support research and scholarly activity.
• Teach undergraduate courses in the candidate's area of specialization and courses that are part of the Psychology curriculum (e.g., Physiological Psychology, Perception, Advanced Laboratory in Psychological Science, Psychopharmacology).
• Teach courses of varying modalities and sizes, including large class sizes, on the Kennesaw and/or Marietta campuses. The standard teaching load is 9 credit hours (i.e., 3 courses) per semester; however, workload distributions are negotiable.
• Engage students in research and provide mentorship that supports their academic and professional development.
• Contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities, including committee work and shared governance.
• Engage in professional activities relevant to the candidate's area of expertise.

• An earned Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Psychology or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

• Demonstrated record of research and scholarship within the discipline.
• Experience teaching, mentoring, and/or supporting student success in higher education settings

• Specialization in physiological/biological psychology or behavioral/cognitive neuroscience.

• A record of publishing scholarship in reputable outlets.
• Experience/potential in securing external funding.
• Experience teaching courses related to physiological/biological psychology or behavioral/cognitive neuroscience, as well as courses that are part of the Psychology curriculum (e.g., Physiological Psychology, Perception, Advanced Laboratory in Psychological Science, Psychopharmacology).
• Evidence of effectiveness in teaching in different modalities (i.e., face-to-face, online, hybrid).
• Effectiveness in supervision and mentoring of students.
