Undergraduate Poster Session at SFN

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION NOW CLOSED

Abstract submission for the 2025 FUN Undergraduate Poster Session is now open. The FUN Poster Session will be held in conjunction with the Early Career Poster Session at the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Annual Meeting. The session will take place on Saturday November 15th at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA from 6:45 - 8:45pm. This event showcases undergraduate student research to the entire SfN community, and connects undergraduate students with other trainees and graduate school advisors who attend the meeting. Any undergraduate student attending Neuroscience 2025 and sponsored by a FUN member may present a poster. The FUN poster does NOT have to be accepted by SfN or presented as part of the regular SfN meeting.

Each student abstract must be sponsored by a regular FUN member in good standing. Sponsors, please be sure your FUN membership is up-to-date before submitting to avoid delays in acceptance. Each FUN member can sponsor one student submission. Each presenting author must register for a free SfN account through the Society for Neuroscience website. A member institution or program can sponsor one additional submission from their program.

In 2025, we will have ~175 poster slots that will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Submitted abstracts for the FUN Undergraduate Poster Session were accepted until Monday August 18.

Students must register for the SfN Annual Meeting to participate in the FUN Poster Session, but are not required to present their poster at the SfN conference. Students who have applied for a FUN Travel Award and would like to present at the FUN poster session must submit their abstracts here. Faculty should sponsor a submission only if they can confirm that the student will attend the session in person. The call for abstracts will remain open until our maximum number of allotted posters are received, or Monday August 18, 2025, whichever occurs first. Please contact the FUN President, Jackie Rose, if you have any questions.

Instructions for Abstract Submission (NOW CLOSED)
Students should work together with their advisor to finalize their abstract, then visit this link (NOW CLOSED) to submit the abstract for the FUN Poster Session and fill out information to be included in the SfN program. Full contact information must be provided for both the presenting student and the sponsor. All required information must be submitted using this form (link here); abstracts with links to external websites or another location will not be accepted. Accepted submissions will be confirmed with a return email to the email address associated with the submission.

NOTE: This year’s poster session will be grouped by themes and authors. A separate program with presenters and titles (not part of the SfN app) will be made available one week prior to and at the SfN. An abstract book will also be posted one week before the SfN on the FUN website. All authors and sponsors are welcome and encouraged to attend the FUN Poster Session. All attendees must register for the SfN Annual Meeting.

Poster boards are 4' x 6' landscape format. Please be sure that your poster will fit within this space. Only one poster may be displayed on any single board. The posters will follow the same format as those in the main SfN poster sessions; see SfN's guide on poster sessions.
